Fort Wayne Indiana Lift Station Installation

When does a lift station need to be installed?

There are a few instances when you need to install a lift station. Firstly, any new residential or commercial property with inadequate fall needs a lift station. Meaning they have inadequate fall to use a gravity line. Secondly, any house built within 300 feet of a city sewer. The home must tie into the municipality line in this instance. However, not all city sewers are gravity. Many rural houses do not have a gravity sewer to tie in with. In these instances, a pressurized line that requires a lift station might be an option.

Another instance is a house with a septic system in failure. If they are within a distance of a city sewer, they can tie in.  A grinder pit, in this instance, is more cost-efficient than a gravity line.

J&S can install a lift station for you and take all the necessary steps to get your lift station up and running. Give us a call for more information and to get a free quote.

What is the process of installing a lift station?

A lift station installation has many steps. First, a tap into a city sewer is necessary. Generally, pipe boring is required to tie the lift station into the city sewer. An excavation is then essential to install the grinder pump basin and hook the gravity sewer from the house to the basin. An electrical box runs the pump in the basin. On top of that, we obtain permits to complete the process.
