Hydro-jetting is the process of using a specialized machine to push high-pressure water through pipes to get blockages out of sewer lines or pipes. We send the jet through whichever pipe causes you an issue. As the hose moves, it removes buildup, debris, roots, and other blockages.
One great thing about jetting is that it will not cause damage to the pipes during the removal of clogs. It is also a safe way to get rid of debris. Because of this, hydro-jetting can be used on corrugated tile, unlike augering, which can damage those types of drainage lines. Although many people are used to using a “snake”, jetting is a better option than the auger in many scenarios.
Jets can help with many blockage types. We use jetting machines to get rid of grease, limescale buildup, random debris, tree roots, or even foreign items in the lines, just to name a few. You do not need to know what is causing your blockage. Let us investigate the problem for you. We can get rid of a blockage by doing a combination of jetting, augering, and camera investigation.
J&S uses hydro-jetting as a safe and effective way to remove debris. We perform this technique to clean the total diameter of the pipe and remove any clogs or buildup. Jetting eliminates clogs fully. We can either pull the blockage out of the cleanout or move it onto the larger pipes of a city main that can handle the item. This is important because other techniques only break up the clog into small portions. Then they leave them behind inside the pipe, which will only temporarily solve the problem.
Another reason jetting is a good option is because it is safe for corrugated lines, in which augering cannot be used because of potential damage to pipes. We use the jet on the corrugate tile in yards and fields to safely remove debris.
Another advantage of the jet is its hose is long. It is a solution for long distances of pipe up to 500 feet, while augers usually only cover short distances. This means that if the clog is far into your pipes, we can still reach it and break it up.
Usually, after a large rainfall, you will realize quickly if your drains are not working properly. Properties have drainage installed to rid rainwater or other natural runoff water and move it away from the house. This is great for when it is functioning, but it can be detrimental if they are not working properly. If blocked, or broken, water can pool outside, or worse, it can get into your home.
Your drainage could be malfunctioning for many reasons. One of the most common reasons is a clog in the line. Natural substances can cause clogs like roots, dirt, or rocks. Something can also cause them that should not be in the line. We find so many random objects in lines that you would not even believe. This could include anything from a toy, trash, an animal, or another item that mistakingly got into the line.
Another reason for flooding could be a break in the line. When we jet, this is apparent if rocks spill out of the cleanout. When we do a camera inspection, it will also show any breaks in the footage.
Whether it is a clog or a break, we do a camera inspection of your line. This shows us where the problem is located. Then we jet the line and get the flow of water moving again. If worse comes to worst, we can also excavate and repair broken pipes.
J&S can perform a hydro-jetting service on clogged sewer lines. If your house is on the city sewer and has backups, jetting might be an option for you. We jet from your house to the city sewer hook-up. J&S will have any blockages in your lines removed. We can also jet other lines around your home.
Although we can remove clogs from lines, it is important for you to prevent future clogs by not putting items down your pipes that should not be there. Do not flush feminine hygiene products, “flushable” wipes, diapers, clothing, or any other item that is not water or a normal amount of toilet paper. These will cause clogs in your line. Please research things to not flush or put down your drains if you are questioning a household habit that could cause issues in the drains. Good habits can help avoid the headache of a sewer issue.
