Distribution Box Services

Distribution Box Repairs and Replacement

What is a distribution box?

A distribution box is an underground concrete or plastic structure that disperses the septic wastewater into either a septic mound, a leach field, or a sand filter bed.

D-boxes are an essential part of most septic systems. If the box has issues, it will soon cause a leach field failure if not repaired. Common issues for them occur because they are worn down over time by weather or improper care of the septic system. Staying on top of routine maintenance and getting prompt repairs when needed is essential.

What are some common problems that occur?

There are a few main issues that can occur. The most common issue that affects them is decay due to age and/or the type of concrete used in the original manufacturing. They can also not be level, resulting in excessive absorption of fingers of the septic system, resulting in uneven use. Also, they can become clogged due to tree roots or a septic tank not being cleaned for a prolonged amount of time. If you are noticing any problems with your system, call for more information.

How to replace a distribution box?

To replace, we first call in locates. This finds where the utilities are on the property. The box avoids damage while replacing it because we know where the utilities are in advance. An excavator digs up the area around it. We cut the piping, remove it, and dispose of the old box properly. We then install a new plastic or concrete box in its place. Lastly, we connect all the lines to the new distribution box.

J&S has the professional knowledge and ability to do the project from start to finish. Call for more information and get a free quote.
